About Christopher Kolade

The Christopher Kolade Centre for Research in Leadership and Ethics (CKCRLE) is a testament to the legacy of Dr. Christopher Kolade, CON, a renowned diplomat and academic. Born in Erin-Oke, Osun State, Nigeria, in 1932, he comes from a family deeply committed to missionary work in the Anglican Church.

Educated at Government College, Ibadan, and Fourah Bay College, Freetown, Sierra Leone, Dr. Kolade embarked on a diverse career path, becoming a veteran broadcaster and the Director-General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation. He later served as the Chief Executive and Chairman of Cadbury Nigeria Plc and held the esteemed position of Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.

Following his London post, Dr Kolade went on to share his wealth of knowledge by teaching Corporate Governance and Human Resources Management at Lagos Business School (LBS) and Leadership & Conflict Management at the School of Media & Communication (SMC), both institutions affiliated with Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos. He has also held significant roles within the university’s governance structure, including Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council.

Dr Kolade’s remarkable service extends to national and international organizations, where he led institutions such as The Nigerian Institute of Management, The Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, The International Institute for Communications, and The World Association for Christian Communication. Worthy of note is the Order of St. Augustine medal from the Archbishop of Canterbury and his appointment as Chairman of the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme Board by President Goodluck Jonathan in 2012.

As an advocate of business integrity, Dr Kolade chairs organizations such as Integrity Organization Ltd GTE and The Convention on Business Integrity Ltd GTE. His dedication to ethical leadership and integrity continues to inspire the mission of CKCRLE.

The Centre bears his name in recognition of his unwavering commitment to leadership, ethics and education. The CKCRLE strives to positively influence the Nigerian and African environment through research in leadership and ethics. Christopher Kolade’s rich legacy continues to shape the Centre’s mission, fostering a culture of ethical leadership and impactful research in Africa.
